“Danse Macabre” is an experiential musical performance inspired by Latin American magical realism literature and rhythmic music. You are invited to the opening party of an afterlife restaurant, where the stories of five characters intertwine. The performance explores unfulfilled wishes, desires, and dreams, while using humor, absurdity, and irony to examine death, raising the question: what does it mean to live fully in the present?
“Danse Macabre” was created on the principle of collaborative work. It was inspired by a sense of constant instability, following world news and observing the tensions that have built up in society. The creators came up with the idea of creating a performance that would speak about the importance of the present moment. It is about living without waiting or expecting anything – striving to fully experience what is happening now, boldly embracing the future and appreciating all the gifts we have.
