The play “Remyga” is a flashback of the early years of Independence – a tough time of deep transformations. The play takes place in the controversial 1992 in the city of Šiauliai. After a military service in the Soviet Army, in Afghanistan, Remyga returns to his hometown. He would like to live “like all normal people” – to be a good father, a responsible employee. However, the shadows and chaos of the past are becoming increasingly turbid. Where is the line between Good and Evil in such chaotic society? How can one stay honest and tame his inner demons? What is the price of independence, political and personal? In this performance R. Kmita, the playwright, and O. Koršunovas, the stage director, combine documentary material, authenticity of a mundane life, fictional stories, psychedelic mysticism and live rock music. O. Koršunovas portrays the face of Lithuania of that period: “Things happening in Šiauliai back then, were happening all over Lithuania.”
